Introduction to the Human Hand

Now for some interesting facts about your hands…

The human hand is made up of 27 bones, with 27 major joints. Your fingers are controlled by 34 muscles, but none of these are actually in your fingers - instead, these muscles are located in your palm and forearm. We know, that’s crazy! In each hand there are over 100 ligaments and tendons, that’s pretty much what makes up your hand.

FACT: Studies suggest that approximately 85 - 90% of people are right-handed!

With 48 nerves it’s no surprise that the skin on our hands is sensitive enough to be able to tell the difference between hot and cold, dry, and wet, soft and hard, and so on. From playing the piano to building palaces, our hands can seemingly achieve anything given the right tools.

FACT: Our fingers are even more sensitive than the eyes—the fingertips have a large number of receptors responsible for sending messages to the brain!

With so much value in our hands, it's important to protect them for any potential danger. Traffi's Colour Coded System makes it simple for everybody to ensure they are keeping their hands protected. Discover our range, keep your hand safe.
